Resistance to Change for bad habits, attitudes and behaviors! Why? How?
Most people find it difficult to rid away their bad habits, attitudes and behaviors that can sometimes bring problem to a relationship.
How to rid away Bad habits, attitudes and behaviors?
First, you need to understand:
What is Conscious Mind? (In General)
Conscious means Aware.
When you are conscious of something, you know it, are aware of it.
The Conscious, “Thinking” mind functions primarily in the left brain.
Your Conscious mind enables you to break down information into small parts, analyzes, makes comparisons, evaluates, reasons and finally forms a response to the presenting problem.
What is Subconscious Mind? (In General)
Your Subconscious mind consists of associated sense impressions and memories of all your past. Subconscious activity is a function of the right hemisphere of the brain.
Subconscious mind maintains a storage bank of memories that include everything that ever happened to you, every experienced, relationship and word spoken – everything.
Second, you need to understand:
All of our present habits, mannerisms, and thought patterns are the results of past subconscious “programming” from parents, teachers, peers, co-workers, television – a variety of sources.
All of us experience the difficulty of changing a habit pattern at one time or another. Once your subconscious learns something, it tends to resist change and the more you try to force the change, the greater the resistance. The subconscious acts like a child who resents force and rebels.
“Old Tapes” Must Be Changed
In hypnotherapy, we refer to subconscious programming as “Old Tapes” since our minds retain everything.
Some old tapes are good. We may be programmed to stop automatically at a red light, brush our teeth every, day “thank you” when appropriate and act according to certain standards, etc.
We accept these tapes without thinking about them. But we also accept other tapes such as “I have my father’s temper”, or “I’m lousy with Math”, or “All my relatives are overweight”, because it runs in the family.
When the subconscious mind is full of negative program tapes, it’s virtually impossible to stay in a positive frame of mind unless those tapes are changed on a subconscious level.
In Short, to erase those negative program, you can do this on a daily basis for 2 weeks for each:
Bad Habits and its Positive opposite actions:
Lazy -> Diligent
Depress -> Invigorate
Impatience -> Calm
Anger -> Love
Frustration -> help/support/encouragement from others
Bad Attitude/Behavior and its Positive opposite actions:
Brag -> Modest
Jealous -> Content/Rejoice of others
Fierce -> Calm/Peace
Dishonest -> Truthful/Ethical
Fear -> Confidence/love
Step 1: Whenever you are lazy, induce Suggestion the Word ‘Diligent’ to your subconscious mind.
(Don’t worry about how to induce it to your subconscious mind, it is like when you are listening to music or watching a movie, you are already in a hypnotic state of mind.)
Step 2: Just focus one bad habit, attitude/behavior imbalance of any at a time for 2 weeks. You need to continuously induce the Positive word to your subconscious mind.
